Resume Creation

My one my favorite quotes shows how photography and life relate. Life is like a Camera. You focus on what’s important, capture the good times, develop from the negative and if things don’t work take another shot. For the passed few years I have studied the art of photography. As I have learned about and developed a love in photography, I have changed how I look at scenes. I view the world around me differently and often find myself thinking about how I would capture that moment.

My unique style is to capture scenes in the moment. I like to see true expressions on people’s faces, the beauty of a landscape, or to capture what my brain and eye have deemed a beautifully scene. I also like to find the unique in the scenes I am capturing and to see what is different.

For my creative resume hand out, I focused on showing my work in a step by step process. As I began thinking about this project, I imagined handing my resume to a potential employer and seeing their surprise to see something different. I picked an envelope style to give it a clean but well thought out resume. As you begin to unfold, you are introduced to some of my photos as well as where you can find more samples of my work. You are also introduced to me and once you reach the inside, you can learn more about me and what my skill levels are. Using Illustrator, I carefully measured out where the folds were and then I placed the pictures the spot I am planned out. I also had to have a rough sketch so I could remember the different angles and how much of the photo would be showing. I printed once to be sure of quality and the alignment. Then I printed the rest and folded them into the finished product.

This simple resume shows some of my best photos as well as my skills for looking for the unique. As a photographer I like to find different angles to shoot a photo and my resume and business card both show different angles.

I am a very determined person. I am driven to get the job done. I strive to focus on what is important both through the lens in the camera and in completing a project. I work to weed out those things that aren’t helping the overall project. My satisfaction comes from knowing a project was done right.
